I have a passion for cities and have combined my multidisciplinary background in Architecture, Planning and Law into a successful and innovative career as an urban problem solver and advisor. I have over twenty years of hands-on experience in both the private and public sectors and have helped developers, municipal governments and stakeholder groups in over thirty cities across North America make smart development and planning decisions.
Between 2002 and 2013, I was the Director of Urban Design for the City of Toronto. In this capacity I led a number of key city-building initiatives including the creation of design guidelines for Mid-rise and Tall Buildings, developing street design standards for major transit corridors and establishing the City’s Design Review Panel.
Prior to returning to Toronto, I was an Urban Designer and Project Manager with Urban Design Associates — an award winning Urban Design and Architecture firm based in Pittsburgh, PA — where I became an expert in the design charrette process.
I’m an expert collaborator and communicator with a positive, action-oriented attitude and an infectious ability to motivate those around me. Whether you are a municipal government department, a neighbourhood or business association or a private developer – I can work with you and the stakeholders in your community to find the best solution to your urban planning, design and development issues.
